As Christians we believe that everything exists for the glory of God; to make the goodness and greatness of the one true God known.
The vision of Bury St Edmunds Presbyterian Church is to be a people who give glory to God in everything we do, and especially by worshipping Him. Our belief is expressed in the first question and answer of the Westminster Shorter Catechism:
We seek to give God glory by honouring Him with all that we have and do, in our homes, work, and by loving others. God has made His glory known in the beauty of creation, the glory of human beings, through the revelation of the scriptures, and supremely through His Son Jesus Christ. God sent His Son into this world in order to save us from our sin and falleness and to restore us to true fellowship with God. Now He is exalted as the Lord of all, we praise and worship God in Jesus Christ as our Lord and Saviour. To give God glory fills us with grateful joy and happiness.
We long to give God more glory by being a people who live to praise Him, because of His great saving grace towards us. We are therefore committed to reaching out to our neighborhood, and the world, with the good news of Christ. We do this because we long to see more and more people coming to know how great God is and worthy of praise. Our worship on Sunday is the great joy and highlight of our lives and we invite you to join us and to enjoy glorifying God with us.
